More than a dozen attorneys arrived in the courtroom in Lubbock, Texas to plead their cases concerning the ongoing Reagor-Dykes reorganization.

Also on hand were Ford Motor Credit and various banks involved in the reorganization. Both spoke to the judge about their current situation and relationship with Reagor-Dykes.

The courtroom discussions deal with what Ford is willing to do going forward and whether or not the other attorneys think it is best for their clients and for the community in general. According to one of the attorneys representing Reagor-Dykes, "right now the case is kinda stuck in the mud, and we need your help to get it out.” He described the situation as “long on litigation and short on good business.”

The lawyer also asked the judge to determine if the case is a full reorganization or if it is more of a liquidation of assets linked to Reagor-Dykes. According to the attorney, Rick Dykes had agreed to remove himself from the situation personally and not be a part of any arrangement going forward.

The attorney also expressed frustration that there were more than 900 consumer issues with tax, title, and licenses and asked that they be resolved. He admitted the recent government shutdown had caused the backlog, in part, but is hopeful mediation will also allow this issue to be fixed.

In addition, the attorney representing Ford Motor Credit also spoke, stating that Ford had not received a detailed proposal until just a few days prior and that they still needed time to look it over.

The judge ultimately sided with Reagor-Dykes’ demand that Ford Motor Credit be involved in the negotiations and the company was ordered to attend the upcoming mediation session.
