SCOTT GILMORE combines his graduate business school education, his experience litigating cases for more than thirty three years and the lessons he learned during his five years as the managing partner of one of the oldest law firms in California to assist litigants in reaching a resolution of their disputes.

SCOTT has served has a mediator since 2003 and has mediated more than 500 cases over the past ten years.

SCOTT has practiced law for more than 35 years, exclusively as a member of Hill, Farrer & Burrill LLP, specializing in business related litigation, including contract, real estate, construction, employment, closely-held corporation and partnership matters.  He has extensive experience in trying both jury and non jury cases in the state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association.

From 1998 through 2002 SCOTT served as Managing Partner of the firm.

In support of his practice as a mediator, SCOTT has completed more than 120 hours of mediation training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University and affiliated organizations.  He serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel of the Los Angeles County Superior Court and is a member of the Southern California Mediation Association

SCOTT GILMORE is an experienced and effective mediator, having handled more than 500 mediations since commencing his mediation practice in 2003.  In addition to his private mediation work, Scott continues to serve on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.  Scott has completed more than 100 hours of mediation training offered through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Scott graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California School of Business Administration in 1975. He then received both his Masters in Business Administration and his Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Southern California in 1978.

 

Scott holds an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. 

 

Scott's professional mediation  affiliations include the Southern California Mediation Association and the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association. Scott is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, in which he is a member of the litigation section of both associations.  He is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
