Through Resolution Mediation Services, LLC (“Resolution”), I handle a variety of civil matters – basic contract disputes, employment law matters, some personal injury claims, and a fair bit of landlord/tenant cases.
Lawyers tend to call me for smaller civil disputes that don't warrant attention from the more well-known or more experienced (and more expensive) mediators in town. My rates reflect the smaller nature of the matters I handle.
Lawyers also tend to call me for matters in which at least one party is pro se. The ethical complexities of handling cases involving pro se litigants cause many mediators to avoid taking on such cases at all, especially if the pro se party also happens to be indigent. I routinely mediate cases involving pro se and/or indigent parties and am quite comfortable doing so.
Still other lawyers call me because they like my approach. I started Resolution to bring people just that: a sense of resolution about their situation. I work hard to bring a feeling of closure not just to the lawsuit, but to the emotions and upset that accompany any conflict. Addressing the emotional element has been healing for the parties, and has proven to be the most efficient and effective way to bring people to a settlement.
Resolution does more than help those for whom I mediate cases. Since its inception, Resolution has been committed to funding the work done by Pat's Place and Safe Alliance for victims of abuse. Resolution is honored to donate one third of every fee collected to these worthy organizations. This business model has been well received by the public, as it allows attorneys and other individuals who select Resolution as their ADR source to contribute to their community through Resolution’s charitable giving.
