Barbara Kellman

      Ms. Kellman received her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1983 and has practiced law and mediation for the past thirty years in Minnesota and Massachusetts.  Ms. Kellman is also a graduate of the Boston University School of Social Work (MSW, 1980) and the University of Michigan Residential College (B.A., Theatre, 1975).

      Ms. Kellman served as General Counsel to the New England Deaconess Hospital (later BIDMC) for ten years and as Counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Board of Registration in Nursing.  She mediated family law and other cases as a volunteer at Community Dispute Settlement Center (CDSC) in Cambridge, MA for many years and has been representing individuals in divorce and family law matters and providing mediation services in her current practice since 2010. She is a Board Member and Vice President of the Massachusetts Council of Family Mediation and a member of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.  From 1998 to 2002 Ms. Kellman was affiliated with The Mediation Group in Brookline where she mediated and arbitrated employment, health care, family, and business disputes.

       Ms. Kellman has extensive training in mediation and negotiation, including courses at the Harvard Project on Negotiation, CDSC, the Equal Opportunity Commission (where she also served as a Mediator) and the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.  She has trained and coached mediation students with CDSC and at Newton North High School, as well as in her private practice.
