Mr. Harrison is a Shareholder of Capehart & Scatchard, and is Co-Chair of the Mediation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group.  He served as the firm’s Managing Shareholder from 1997-2000, after several years on its Executive Committee.

Until the spring of 2006, Mr. Harrison focused his practice in the representation of clients in claims relating to labor and employment, civil rights, IP, and business litigation matters before federal, state and administrative courts. He also maintained an active regulatory practice principally handling environmental and OSHA matters.

In the spring of 2006, Mr. Harrison left private practice to become the Vice President & General Counsel for Metrologic Instruments, Inc., a NASDAQ listed world leader in bar code scanning technology.  In his less than three years in corporate practice, he had extensive involvement in areas of law new to him including patent litigation, M&A, compliance with laws and regulations specific to public companies and supervising the handling of legal matters overseas.

Metrologic was sold twice during Mr. Harrison’s tenure, first to private equity, and second to a Fortune 500 company.  He returned to his former law firm with a desire to utilize the skills not only developed as a private practice litigator, but also as a corporate general counsel and as a law firm leader.  Pursuing this objective included his gaining qualification to serve as a mediator for cases assigned from several state Superior Courts.  He continues to receive such assignments and actively pursues private ADR assignments.
