• Daniel C. Martens, works as a mechanical engineer for Texas Instruments; Graduate, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. Daniel is married to the former Erin Hyslop, also a graduate of Texas A&M University.

THE LAW OFFICE OF DAN E. MARTENS is focused on representing individuals and small to medium sized businesses in business transactions and litigation about business and investment related interests. We do estate planning, business succession planning and asset protection planning, form business entities, and deliver advice about property interests and the sale or purchase of assets. We do commercial litigation, probate litigation, and general civil litigation, but not litigation involving bankruptcy, personal injuries, domestic relations or criminal defense matters. We refer those matters to competent lawyers we know and trust. We do not promote any particular product, nor do we deliver investment advice; the only thing we have to sell is our time, expertise and experience regarding the legal issues presented. Our mission is to render legal advice about our clients’ problems in the most efficient manner possible.

No lawyer within the firm is accredited in any area by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

DAN E. MARTENS has practiced law in the Dallas area since 1974, first with a firm located in downtown Dallas, then with a firm he founded and practiced with until 2001, when he joined Moseley Martens LLP and opened its Collin County Office. Mr. Martens holds undergraduate and law degrees from Southern Methodist University and has taken additional course work at the Pepperdine University School of Law. Mr. Martens is a qualified third party neutral and serves as an arbitrator for cases before the National Arbitration Forum. Mr. Martens is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of Texas, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, and the Federal Courts in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the Western District of Oklahoma. He is further admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits. Mr. Martens has held an "AV" peer rating compiled by Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directories since 1984. Mr. Martens has been married to the former Susan Farmer since 1976 and they have two children, one who teaches school at Centennial Elementary School in Plano, and one who is a mechanical engineer with Texas Instruments in Dallas. Both are graduates of Texas A&M University.

Mr. Martens served his country as a naval officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam conflict.

Mr. Martens has served his community by serving as President of the Board of Directors of The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas and the Journey of Hope Grief Support Center. He currently serves as a Trustee of The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Endowment Foundation and is an Advisory Director of The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
