David Shaiken offers 25 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of industries, with a focus on creditors’ rights, commercial bankruptcy, commercial litigation, regulatory litigation, arbitration and mediation.
In addition, David has served for 13 years as a commercial arbitrator and mediator. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s National Panel of Commercial Arbitrators.
David has been recognized by his peers with the coveted AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and listings in Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers (Connecticut and New England).
He earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1987. Following a two-year clerkship with a federal bankruptcy judge, David Shaiken entered private practice in 1989. David teaches continuing education classes on current developments in the law, and publishes articles on various legal topics. David’s clients include businesses, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives and professionals. All appreciate the personal service, thoroughness, and attention to detail he delivers.
He has held leadership positions in the Connecticut Bar Association. Most notably he is a past chairman and a 25-year member of the CBA’s Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section, and was the first chairman of the CBA’s Small Firm Practice Management Section.
David is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
