Elizabeth A. Hill is a 1986 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. A resident of Lexington since 1982, Elizabeth served the citizens of Fayette County as a Public Defender for six years before going into private practice. Since 1993 she has devoted her practice to family law including divorce, child custody, time sharing issues, paternity and post divorce issues.
Elizabeth is a trained mediator and is trained in collaborative law. These methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution allow couples and parents to come to common sense and civil resolution of their issues.
Elizabeth lives in Lexington with her husband, cat and three pugs ( who she shares equal custody of with her ex-husband).
Elizabeth is a member of the Fayette County and Kentucky Bar Associations. She has served twice as the Chair of the Family Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association and is currently the immediate past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association.
Elizabeth has recently served on the Rules Committee of the Fayette County Bar Association Family Law Section and has made presentations on numerous family law issues before the Fayette County Bar Family Law Section, The Kentucky Bar Association and for National Business Institute.
Elizabeth practices in Family Courts and District Courts in Fayette, Woodford, Scott, Bourbon, Madison, Clark, Harrison, Anderson, Franklin, Boyle, Mercer, Jessamine and Garrard Counties.
Elizabeth has practiced before the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court and has had successful appeals in both.
