Eric Nerness is the founder and principal of The Resolution Group LLC, offering mediation and alternative dispute resolution services throughout Minnesota. He is a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for the District Courts and is listed on the Minnesota Statewide ADR-Rule 114 Neutrals Roster.
He has been an attorney for over thirty years, and spent fourteen years in private practice, first representing small and medium businesses in corporate and real property development matters. Eric then devoted himself to civil litigation involving insurance coverage and defense, representing parties in actions involving automobile and commercial vehicle accidents, personal injury, premises liability, workers’ compensation, property damage and fire loss. While in private practice he was also co-chair of the Hennepin County Bar Association Civil Litigation Section.
He then joined USAA - Now the nation's fifth largest personal lines insurer - where he spent seventeen years. During his time with USAA he spent over three years supervising litigation involving USAA and its insureds. After that he joined the Property & Casualty Insurance Group where he spent fourteen years and held various positions including:
