Vision

Eugenio wholeheartedly believes in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and in the effectiveness of professionally managed mediations to resolve disputes. ADR is a proven alternative to traditional legal courses of action and the high emotional and financial costs often associated with those options. He attained certifications from the Florida Supreme Court to support all aspects of County, Circuit-Civil and Family mediation cases. His collaborative skills and experience are invaluable and serve to assist parties in conflict toward a peaceful and mutually beneficial resolution to their dispute. Eugenio fully engages & builds rapport with the parties using his interpersonal skills & trust-building techniques, thus fostering a productive, non-adversarial mediation environment conducive to successful settlements and agreements.

Experience

Eugenio has being developing his experience in Florida, USA, as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator, being involved with diverse and very interesting types of County, Circuit-Civil and Family mediations. His experience in the maritime arena began in the early 80s, when he joined the Venezuelan National Shipping Company, Compañia Anónima Venezolana de Nevegación (CAVN) after having worked for two Venezuelan insurance companies prior. At CAVN, Eugenio developed his career, and became its Insurance and Claims Manager over a 15 year time span. His years at CAVN broadened his experience representing the company in several negotiations for hull and machinery policies, Protection and Indemnity (P&I) covers, and charterers and cargo liabilities insurance for British, Italian, French, Norwegian, and U.S. insurance markets. He was also responsible for placing personal and property insurance policies on behalf of the company.

Eugenio developed a broad experience in handling a diverse range of hull and machinery claims, P&I claims, as well as cargo, personal injury, collisions, allisions, and oil pollution claims, as well as the analysis and discussion of insurance, charter parties, ship agency contracts, among others. After his employment at CAVN, Eugenio partnered with the international law firm Mahoney & Keane, located in New York, and Eugenio opened the firm “Mahoney & Keane de Venezuela”, which he later acquired from his partners, renaming it E. Moreno Consultores. Eugenio also incorporated Pandi Venezuela, a Venezuelan P&I Correspondent for Protection and Indemnity Clubs, members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, and other insurers for marine insurance. Eugenio has also been a correspondent for international adjusting companies, assisting them with the handling of a diverse range of claims including the shipping, energy, property and banking industry.
