Gabriela Stear, Esq., established South Denver Conflict Solutions, LLC after years of legal practice, both in Florida and Colorado. A 2002 graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Gabriela switched from litigation to mediation after witnessing first-hand how families and relationships break down through the aggressive and adversarial court process.  Gabriela's 14 years of experience as a litigator and small business owner lead to her no nonsense approach which encourages effective, efficient and long-lasting solutions.

Gabriela earned her Mediation Certificate from the University of Denver, and has been trained as a professional Conflict Coach. She volunteers with the Jefferson County Mediation Services Office and the Court Mediation Services in Denver in the areas of Domestic Relations, HOA disputes, Small Claims and Domestic Violence/ other Protection Orders.  As a former prosecutor, Gabriela has extensive experience working with victims and families involved in domestic violence.  She also mediates cases with FindSolutions.org, including Police Officer and Citizen conflicts.

Mediation is a voluntary form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Through this process, conflicted parties resolve disagreements with the help of a neutral mediator.  A neutral mediator takes no sides.
  • A mediator listens to the parties in a confidential setting, guiding them to understand each other’s viewpoint.

  • Through the parties' participation, a mediator facilitates a fair and balanced discussion to understand what really lies at the heart of the dispute.  A mediator helps parties move past the minutiae and focus on the broader picture. Mediation is future focused, not past driven.

  • If an agreement is reached, a Summary or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) serves as a contract between the parties. Agreement is not forced; it is up to each party to decide if agreement is in their best interest.

  • The benefits of mediation reach far beyond just legal cases. Mediation is especially effective for parties wishing to salvage their existing relationships conflicted by workplace conflict, family decision-making, drug/alcohol abuse and inter-family communication issues.
