George Appelbaum was educated at Columbia University (BA 1966) and University of California Law School (Boalt Hall) (JD 1975). He was twice a Peace Corps Volunteer (Tunisia 1966-68; Nepal 1969-70). In 1976, he was hired to initiate and manage a program of free legal services for senior citizens in El Dorado County, a position he held for 23 years.
Since 1999, he has managed a home-based law practice, emphasizing probate, estate planning and elderlaw. He has also served as mediator and arbitrator for The State Bar of California and for the Superior Courts of Sacramento and El Dorado Counties.
