Originally from Sacramento, CA, but now happily residing in Austin, TX, George Murphy has been a practicing attorney for over 37 years, successfully handling a wide variety of civil cases. In 2007, he received intensive mediation training to become certified for handling mediations on behalf of the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District. Since then, he has handled a multitude of mediations, involving all types of civil disputes, with clients including the State of California, many cities, counties, school districts, universities, law enforcement agencies, real estate developers, contractors, insurance companies, and people and businesses of all types.
George holds a "Superb" rating from the attorney rating service, Avvo. He is peer-rated as AV-Preeminent* according to Martindale-Hubbell, which means he is peer-rated at the highest level of professional excellence. George was granted the title of California Super Lawyer in the area of civil appeals, and is listed in Sacramento Magazine as one of the area's top lawyers in the field of insurance coverage law.
In his practice as an attorney, George has been involved in countless mediations and settlement conferences, obtaining over 45 published decisions on various legal issues and giving professional seminars to other attorneys on topics pertaining to appeals and insurance coverage.
George started his career as the Chambers Attorney for a Justice of the California Court of Appeal. As an attorney at the Court of Appeal and then in private practice as an appellate lawyer, George developed the skill set to quickly apprehend the unique facts and law of a particular case and understand the dispute from all perspectives. That skill set, combined with an ability to "look outside the box," lends itself well to identifying and solving key points of contention to help people in dispute find a path to fair and final resolution.
When George isn't resolving cases, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Francine, and their children - both of the human and furry variety. George is actively licensed to practice law in the states of California and Texas.
