Mr. Bowers received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Indiana School of Business in 1965, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee School of Law in 1970. He was licensed by the Supreme Court of Tennessee, Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission, as a Rule 31 Approved Civil Mediator.
He is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth District, and the United States Supreme Court since 1970.
He was private legal counsel to the City of Knoxville from 1976 to 1984. He is listed in Strathmore's Who's Who and The Legal Network Top Lawyers in Tennessee.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bowers has been active in social, civic, community, and church activities. He has been active in coaching and supporting youth activities, and in obtaining improved educational facilities for the community.
Mr. Bowers has served individual, corporate, and business clients in Knox and surrounding counties for more than forty-eight years. He has extensive trial and courtroom experience representing clients in personal injury, probate, insurance, and family law issues. He is now offering assistance and guidance to clients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestosis, and other asbestosis related injuries and illnesses incurred during their employment.
In this day of specialization, Mr. Bowers likes to consider himself a member of a small, vanishing group of practitioners referred to as "the old country lawyer" who serves the broad spectrum of the community. He will assist you in resolving your legal issue. He will gladly meet with you to discuss your problem and then undertake to represent you in obtaining a resolution of the problem, or, in the event your legal issue requires a more specialized approach, referring you to another competent attorney who can offer the necessary specialized expertise.
Mr. Bowers is also applying his years of experience and training to mediation to help attorneys and litigants solve disputes regarding divorce, child custody, support, division of marital assets and debts, and other family law issues.
