The focus of Ascend ADR principal John Jackson’s legal career has been dispute resolution. He believes mediation is a process that begins well before the parties formally meet in an attempt to resolve a dispute. Time, effort, dedication and skill is required to place the parties in the best position for success. John understands this process and strives to create a collaborative environment of open communication and validation that provides an atmosphere conducive to resolution.
Over his 30 year legal career, John has gained perspective through experience. He has participated in hundreds of mediations, both representing parties and as the neutral, and has resolved thousands of claims. These claims have covered a spectrum of damages, from nuisance to catastrophic and wrongful death, and ranged from automobile accidents to sophisticated pharmaceutical and medical device matters. This experience has given John unique insight, setting him apart from others practicing in his field.
John is on the National Arbitration and Mediation ("NAM") and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ("FINRA") rosters of qualified arbitrators and mediators. He is also an approved outside mediator for the Mediation and Assessment Program for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and provides mediation services to the Jackson County Circuit Court. He is a member of the Association of Missouri Mediators, the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, and the Kansas Bar Association Section of Alternative Dispute Resolution.?
