Elected in New York State Assembly in 1986, Minority Leader between 1998 and 2002. Candidate for state comptroller in 2002. U.S. House of Representatives, New York State Senate's Washington office in 1981. Commissioner of New York's Legislative Bill Drafting Commission, 1983-1986. Member and Minority Leader of the New York Assembly, Chair of the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee from 1994 to 1997 and Director of Governor George Pataki's Budget Transition Team in 1994-1995.
