Child Custody, Civil, Co-Parenting, Domestic Relations, Family Disputes, Family Law, Neighbor Disputes, Personal Disputes

Since graduating from law school in December 1988, I have practiced law in West Michigan, primarily Ottawa and Kent counties.  As a career prosecutor, I specialized in criminal, child abuse and neglect, and juvenile delinquency litigation.   The motivation for my 34 years spent litigating these cases was my passion for public service and working with the victims of crime, especially children and their families, to help them achieve justice.  I believe my experience makes me exceptionally well qualified for the role of mediator.

Following my retirement as Prosecuting Attorney for Ottawa County, I completed 40 hours of Civil mediation training, 40 hours of Domestic Relations mediation training, and 8 hours of Domestic Violence training.  I am certified as both a Civil and Domestic Relations mediator.  I have mediated numerous cases to successful resolution since becoming certified.  My past and present experiences with the court system have made me realize the great value and need for mediation as an alternative to trial for dispute resolution.

My wife and I live in the Holland area and have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren.  We enjoy travelling, reading, boating, and spending time with our family.
