Randy joined Kozacky & Weitzel, P.C., as Of Counsel on November 1, 2010. From 1976 to 2000, Randy was a trial lawyer with Wilson & McIlvaine and then Foley & Lardner, both in Chicago. Since 2000, he was General Counsel, Vice President - Corporate Services & Secretary of Woods Equipment Company, a national, mid-sized manufacturing and distribution company. Randy has been an arbitrator since 1995 with the American Arbitration Association and is a mediator and arbitrator with Resolute Systems, LLC.
As an officer and in-house counsel at Woods, Randy was responsible for all legal affairs, corporate governance, human resources and payroll, product safety, product liability and workplace safety. As a member of the executive management team, he was involved in all aspects of the business including multiple financings, restructuring, plant closings, leasing, plant construction, commercial contracts, business contraction and business expansion.
During his nearly 35 years of legal practice, he has been an advocate and counselor in public and private real property transactions and disputes (including acquisition, financing, leasing, design, construction, testing, surety, design defects, claims, building codes and standards and environmental issues); product liabilty; employment law; professional services; commercial finance; business restructuring; mergers and acquisitions; real estate agency; dealer and distribution law; unfair competition; intellectual property litigation; international law; and not-for-profit governance, funding and management.
His practice in alternative dispute resolution includes neutral or advocate in numerous construction and commercial disputes involving all aspects of construction (e.g., design, construction, liens, defects and claims) and many other commercial issues (e.g., contracts, product liabilty, antitrust and professional services).
