I have been practicing law in Danbury, Connecticut for thirty eight years, including seven years as an assistant state’s attorney prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors. Before opening my own practice in 2008, I was a principal in the Danbury law firms of Pinney, Payne, P.C., and Secor, Cassidy, and McPartland, P.C.
I have extensive experience in litigating matters such as personal injuries arising out of motor vehicle accidents and premises liability; criminal and motor vehicle offenses, including DUI; real estate disputes, including eminent domain proceedings, boundary issues and foreclosures; partnership disputes; and employment matters. I have conducted dozens of court and jury trials and have argued numerous appeals in the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts.
I also frequently serve as a mediator in personal injury and commercial disputes.
In addition to my extensive litigation experience, I often act as the closing attorney in commercial and residential real estate transactions.
I have also had considerable experience representing local municipalities, and in 1990 I served as counsel to the Danbury Charter Revision Commission.
I have had a long history of involvement in the Danbury community, as have many members of my family. I am a Past President of the Danbury Bar Association; Past Chairman of the Western Connecticut State University Foundation; and I have served on the boards of several community charitable organizations. I was an adjunct professor at Western Connecticut State University in its Justice and Law Department in the 1990s.
