ROBERT E. BIASOTTI formed Biasotti & Associates in September 2012. Bob has argued appeals in the Florida Supreme Court, all five of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, and in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is board certified by The Florida Bar in Appellate Practice, AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is currently the Florida representative of the ABA Judicial Division’s Council of Appellate Lawyers (CAL), previously serving as a member of CAL’s Executive Board. He was a member of The Florida Bar Appellate Rules Committee from 2001-2007, and has taught Appellate Practice as an Adjunct Professor at Stetson University College of Law.
Before starting his appellate boutique, Bob was a partner at Carlton Fields, and was the subject of a 2005 National Law Journal article on Fast Track Partners. He was the recipient of the Stetson Lawyer's Association Outstanding Alumni Award. After law school, he was a staff attorney for Judge Blue of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal from 1997-98. Before attending law school, Bob had a 20-year career as a computer programmer and financial executive, serving as Chief Financial Officer for Columbia Artists Management Inc. from 1983 to 1994.
In December 2013, Bob was awarded the “Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice” medal by Pope Francis, which is the highest award that can be presented by the Roman Catholic Church to a lay member. He currently serves as Secretary and Chairman-Elect of the Pastoral Council for the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
In August 2014, Bob was appointed by Governor Scott to the Florida Second DCA Judicial Nominating Commission (2014-2018).
