Wesley Romine Morrow, Romine & Pearson, P.C. P.O. Box 4804 Montgomery, AL 36103-4804 Wesley Romine was born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 18, 2950. He graduated from Auburn University, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.A. degree in 1972. After two years in the United States Army, he attended the University of Alabama School of Law. He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1977. He graduated in the top fifteen percent of his class.

In 1978, Romine was admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle, Southern, and Northern Districts of Alabama and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has been a member of the United States Supreme Court since 1986.

Following completion of law school, Romine was the law clerk and staff attorney for Judge Robert P. Bradley, Alabama Court of Civil Appeals until 1979. In 1979-1980 he was an associate with the Law Office of Ted Taylor. That firm engaged in plaintiff’s trial and appellate practice. In 1981 he and another associate (Roger Morrow) with the Law Office of Ted Taylor became partners in the predecessor firm of Morrow, Romine & Pearson, P.C.

Since 1979, Romine has engaged in trial practice in all state and federal courts. Romine has personally tried in excess fifty-five jury trials. These trials have included medical malpractice, faulty construction of homes, business and commercial torts, consumer fraud, insurance fraud, co-employee suits, slip and falls, premise liability suits, automobile accidents, products liability suites, wrongful termination of an employee in violation of the Alabama Workman’s Compensation Act, employee discrimination, handicap discrimination (violation of Fair Housing), dram shop death cases, assault and battery, slander/defamation and trespass cases.

Romine has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in these trials.

Romine has been involved in approximately forty to forty-five appeals to state and federal courts, including two appeals to the United States Supreme Court.

Romine is a certified mediator and arbitrator. He has been involved in arbitration as both and arbitrator and a litigant. He has arbitrated in excess of forty cases. He has mediated in excess of three hundred cases, but has also attended mediations as a representative of litigants.

Since 1983, Romine has also engaged in a quasi judicial capacity for a number of state and other agencies. From 1983 to 1987 he was the chief hearing officer for the Alabama Medicaid Agency. From 1993 to 1995 he was an administrative law judge for the State Department of Health, Planning and Development (SHPDA). Throughout 1993 to 2003, he often served as alternate chairman for the Alabama Board of Appeals for the Unemployment Division of the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations. From 2003 to the present, he has been a court appointed hearing officer for the Alabama Department of Transportation in which capacity he hears employment discrimination and other employment disputes. From 2009 to 2011 he was a hearing officer for the Alabama Board of Cosmetology. From 1989 to the present he has been a hearing officer for the Alabama Department of Education. In that capacity, he hears cases under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

Presently, Romine is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and FINRA (the successor to the National Association of Securities Dealers).

In addition, Romine is a mediator for both of those organizations. Similarly, he is a mediator for the United States Postal Service and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He is a certified member of the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution serving on both the arbitrator and mediation panels. He is a member of the ADR Panel of Neutrals for the North District of Alabama, 1996-present, as well as a member of the ADR Panel of Neutrals for the Southern District of Alabama, 1996-present. He is currently a member of the Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators.

From 1998 to 2002, Romine was the chairman of the Montgomery County Bar Association Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution. In that capacity he wrote three articles: Romine, Wesley, Mediation Initiated in Montgomery County, MONTGOMERY COUNTY BAR DOCKET, July 1994; Romine, Wesley, Mediating Practice and Standards, MONTGOMERY COUNTY BAR DOCKET, Sept. 1997. He is also the author of Bad Faith or Fraud: Your Choice, ALA. TRIAL LAWYERS JOURNAL, Summer 1989.

The law firm of Morrow, Romine & Pearson, P.C., celebrating its twentieth year of existence, was founded in 1987 by Roger S. Morrow and Wesley Romine. Roger Morrow and Wes Romine had formerly practiced law in two prior law firms. Morrow, Romine & Pearson was formed immediately upon dissolution of Whitesell, Morrow & Romine, P.C., its predecessor law firm. Roger Morrow and Wesley Romine have practiced law in the same firm for more than twenty-five years. Joel H. Pearson became a shareholder of Morrow, Romine &Pearson, P.C. in 1989 and has practiced law with Roger Morrow and Wesley Romine for more than twenty years.

    
Morrow, Romine &Pearson's practice area of concentration is civil litigation representing litigants in trials, mediations and appeals in all state and federal courts and in administrative hearings and arbitrations. Morrow, Romine & Pearson has represented clients in almost every judicial circuit in the State of Alabama and in all three United States District Courts located in Alabama. In its first twelve years of existence, MR&P's clientele was a fifty percent mixrepresenting plaintiffs and defendants. During the past ten years MR&P's practice has transitioned into an insurance and defense practice whose clientele primarily consists of insurance companies, individual defendants, businesses, state agencies and a large municipality. Members of MR&P are trained mediators and arbitrators. As well, members of MR&P serve on a regular basis as mediators, arbitrators and special masters, and one is a State hearing officer.

    
Over the years Morrow, Romine & Pearson has defended insurance companies,state agencies, municipalities, businesses and individuals in products liability cases,consumer litigation, defamation cases, automotive cases, truck underride litigation, all forms of bodily injury and personal injury cases, handicap and employment discrimination cases, Section 1983 cases and first amendment cases in state and federal courts.

    
Morrow, Romine &Pearson represents litigants in appellate work, administrative law proceedings, mediations and arbitrations. Over the years the law firm has represented numerous defendants in cases involving very serious injury and death. MR&P has also developed a practice area of concentration in defending automobile dealerships throughout the State of Alabama and has extensive experience in enforcing arbitration provisions. The firm of MR&P has also developed a practice area of concentration in insurance coverage issues and in defending fraud and bad faith lawsuits filed against insurance companies.

Morrow, Romine &Pearson is a small firm, but it is very technologically sophisticated. Morrow, Romine &Pearson has a state of the art computer system and document repository/scanning system. All files and databases are currently scanned and maintained electronically as well as with paper files. The IT services are performed under retainer by Charles Morrow, a software developer who has a Masters of Science degree in computer science software engineering, and serves as an expert consultant for the Law firm of Morrow, Romine &Pearson regarding computer and software issues that arise in litigation
