Bill Drew believes there is no substitute for sensible advice and good counsel.
His cases involve dynamic relationships between intelligent, combative, and often emotional parties, involving everything from real property transactions, intellectual property rights, employment, insurance coverage, and complex business contracts, to family squabbles, will contests, and common law claims. Bill seeks to address the root of a problem, and to provide real counsel and advice to our clients. While many lawyers confuse advice with the process of laying out a client’s options, Bill offers a practical and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
A native Oregonian, Bill graduated cum laude from Willamette University with a BS in Psychology, and cum laude from Harvard Law School five years later. In between college and law school he worked in Oregon politics as a campaign assistant to then Attorney General David Frohnmayer, and supervised the legislative office for State Senator Jeannette Hamby. After graduating from Harvard Law, Bill clerked for Justice W. Michael Gillette, at the Oregon Supreme Court, where Bill continues to argue cases.
Bill is a member of the Oregon and Washington State bars, the Owen Panner American Inn of Court, and the Multnomah County Bar Association. He has served as secretary for the Willamette University Alumni Board of Directors, as chairman of the board for the non-profit Adventures Without Limits, as vice chair of the Westside Lutheran School Association Board of Directors, at Forest Hills Lutheran School, and as a WEBELOS cub scout leader. Bill and his family also enjoy horses, snow skiing, hiking, camping and the outdoors.
